- Why do we have 19 employees and Lopez & Orcas each have 8 ?
- We actually have more employees than Lopez and Orcas combined!
- Why do we over pay the employees we have?

- Orcas Director: $153,305 (salary and benefits)
- SJI Director: $175,730 (salary and benefits)
- SJI Director (if Levy passes): $249,630 (salary and benefits) (calc at 66%)
- The YES Library Levy Committee thinks personnel cost is OK at 78% up to 90% of revenue! (letter on San Juan Islander)
- Why do we have a full time IT person?
- Neither Lopez or Orcas has an IT person !
- The IT person at SJI is paid $129,590 (salary and benefits)
- If you work, how does this compare this what you earn?
- It's truly unbelievable they are asking for more money.
- This only compares SJI to Orcas and Lopez. What about comparison to Anacortes, and Mt Vernon where the Director is paid even less?

I love the Library but I am opposed to overpaying which is MISMANAGEMENT. We are already paying twice what Orcas pays and they want us to increase it to 3 times more than Orcas. This is mismanagement at its worst! The Board, the Director and the Voters are responsible! Please don't make it any worse.
We could do so much more/better with the money! Affordable housing comes to mind.
* SJI is actually 105% of revenue because they dipped into reserves and grants (they spent more than the tax revenue on employment!
