Dear Friends and Fellow Patriots,
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we learned of the despicable assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10th. The San Juan County Republican Party wishes to express its profound condolences to his family, his wife and two children. Our nation has lost a bright, conservative, God-fearing and courageous man, who inspired a generation to embrace faith and freedom.
It is also a time for us to have no illusions regarding the fervent ideologies on the left that have contributed to a climate where radical elements increasingly tolerate and incite evil and violence toward opponents. Have no doubt: the bullet fired at Charlie Kirk was fired not just at one man, but fired at all of us who share Judeo-Christian values and our love for our Constitution and Republic.
Now is the time for us to display the courage, faith, wisdom, and love that Charlie Kirk showed as he repeatedly confronted the divisions and harmful ideologies permeating our culture and our universities.
Charlie did this with grace, respect, and a solid grasp of history and the facts - and we must remain committed to fighting this battle of ideas in the same manner, in our communities, extending openness to dialogue even as we stand firm in truth. Please pray for his wife and children, and for God’s grace in this struggle for the soul of our nation.
The greatest thing he wanted to be remembered for is: His Courage For His Faith.
